A bantam baseball team from Muskoka is bringing home a win. The Muskoka Hornets Little Caesars Bantam Selects won the 2017 Green and Gold Bantam Select Baseball Tournament in Richmond Hill over the weekend.
The team made it to the final round, and won 15-8 against the undefeated Markham Mariners.
However, Hornets President Peter Haynes says it was with heavy hearts, as the team played after learning of the death of board member and coach, 39-year-old Mike Holm. Haynes says the team held a moment of silence on the pitching mound in tribute before the quarter finals.
Haynes says the team is dedicating the win to Holm.
