Gender neutral birth certificates could be available in Ontario in 2018

Gender neutral birth certificates could become a reality in Ontario next year.  That’s if the government can work with other provinces to make sure they are recognized across Canada. If it can, a non-binary birth certificate could be an option for people who do not identify as either male or female.

Moose FM went to the streets to find out how Muskokans feel about the idea.

Right now, Ontario offers gender neutral driver’s licences and health cards.  The province will be holding consultations over the summer and hopes to have gender neutral birth certificates available in 2018.
