It’s summer time which means construction season is underway. The MTO says there are over 200 projects underway on roadways in the province right now.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt from the Highway Safety Division says with these projects come delays, lane restrictions and safety risks for construction workers. He reminds drivers to be mindful of the workers who are at risk while on these sites.
He added that aggressive driving can be a problem around construction sites, and asks drivers to be patient. Fines for speeding are double inside construction zones.
