Registration now open for female firefighters training camp

Up-and-coming female firefighters can now register for a training camp. Huntsville council has given the green light to hold the camp at the Waterloo Summit Centre, and it will run in August.

The Female Firefighters in Training Camp is open to girls aged 15 to 18-years-old. The camp will teach young women about what it means to be a firefighter, by learning about special rescues, vehicle extraction, and using proper gear.

The instructors will be from the Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department, and there will also be guest speakers. Young women interested in signing up can find more information on the Camp FFIT website.

There is also still an opportunity to have the cost of the camp covered by the Gravenhurst Fire Department. Find more details below:
