Wahta Mohawks are moving on from the cranberry business

A cranberry business that is just two years shy of its 50th year is shutting down production.
The Iroquois Cranberry Growers, owned and operated by the Wahta Mohawks, is out of business.
The announcement was made last week by the Economic Development Officer Lance DeCaire in a release.
DeCaire says an over saturated cranberry market has forced producers like IGC to drop their prices and its no longer profitable.
He says Wahta will be looking at other economic development opportunities to put money back into the territory.
