Flooding a possibility for various Muskoka rivers

The risk of flooding is rising in Muskoka. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has a flood watch in effect for the Moon River Bala Beach. That means there is a potential for flooding as water levels are high from all of the recent rain.

The North and South Muskoka Rivers, the Big East River, and the Black River all have high water levels. Low lying areas and flood prone roads could all be affected to some degree.

The MNRF says to keep a close eye on the conditions, and watch for updates. The ministry also says to be careful around water bodies, because flows and levels remain high.
