Heritage Committee agrees to Grandview’s Rosewood building tear down

An application to tear down part of the Grandview Resort is halfway to being approved. Huntsville’s Heritage Committee agreed to the proposal this week to demolish the Rosewood building.

Chair of the Municipal Heritage Committee, Jason Fitzgerald, says there’s not much left of the original building, which is believed to have been built in 1971.

Now that the heritage committee has agreed to the demolition, council will vote on it. If it passes there, a developer will continue a pitch to build three condo-style buildings on the property, which overlooks Fairy Lake.
