OPP lays charges in connection to Tuesday morning’s Highway 11 crash

Charges are being laid in this morning’s crash that closed Highway 11 for several hours. A 52-year-old Barrie man is facing a slew of charges, including impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.

The pick-up truck he was driving hit a rock cut on the side of the highway around the Stephenson Road 12 exit. The truck rolled, and all five people inside were taken to hospital. Three people have since been released, but two are still there being treated for serious injuries.

It happened at around 7:30am, and the highway was closed for hours afterwards as police investigated.

The man charged has a court date set for May.
