Miller: Wynne government setting easy targets to paint a rosy picture

The provincial government’s claim that the debt is shrinking isn’t impressing Norm Miller. The MPP for Parry-Sound Muskoka says the Wynne government is setting easy targets for itself to make the numbers sound better than they actually are.

This comes after a recent press release from the government said its looking at a $500 million improvement between what the debt was supposed to be for the year, and what it will end up at.

Miller says that information is just trying to paint a rosy picture.

Miller says paying the interest alone is a huge impact on the province’s budget. He says they’re trying to make everything sound great, but there are still some major issues that need to be addressed, like Hydro costs and job creation.
