District budget passes with a 1.78 per cent tax increase in Muskoka

Your municipal taxes might be high, but your district portion should be low.

The District of Muskoka will only be increasing your taxes by just over five dollars on a $200,000 home.

District  council passed the 2017 budget during a meeting on Tuesday.

The major driver once again this year was the rising cost of OPP services.

During the review last month, council members commended district staff on managing to keep this increase low.
