Two streams of government funding for a community centre in Oakley Ward is putting a smile on one Bracebridge councillor’s face.
The Oakley Ward Village Square renovations are moving forward with funding from both FedNor and the province’s Ontario150 grant.
Ward councillor Barb McMurray says, the building plays a major role in helping the members of Vankoughnet come together.
The floors, roof and other parts of the building will be completely renovated, with the project estimated to take about eight months to be completed.
McMurray says the building has been a part of the Vankoughnet community for over 60 years.
