UPDATED: Medical marijuana production facility in Bracebridge moves forward with construction

Shovels are in the ground to build a medicinal marijuana production plant in Bracebridge.
Earlier this month, David Grand began work to prepare the site for the prefabricated building that will be coming in, in the spring.
Grand says once everything is set up on the site, he hopes to have the facility up and running by early 2018.
He says he may start hiring employees as early as this summer with about 50 jobs starting out.
Grand says this won’t be a hands-off project for him.
He and his wife are planning on moving to Bracebridge after the facility opens and he hopes to be donating a portion of his profits directly into the community.
The facility has been approved by the town, supported by the Mayor and is in the process of becoming a fully licensed producer by Health Canada.
There are no details on job application yet, but Moose FM will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
