Huntsville is remembering Dave MacDonald with a fundraiser next week

Huntsville is once again throwing its support behind a local man who died of cancer last January. Dave Macdonald was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer when he was 14-years-old. He went through treatment, and was given the all-clear, until it returned in 2014.

MacDonald lost the fight, and now a fundraiser is underway to not only help his two kids, but also support Huntsville Hospice who provided care towards the end of MacDonald’s life.

Steacie Lachance, who is helping to organize the event, says MacDonald was a local man, calling him a true Muskokan.

Lachance says Huntsville Hospice was a great support for MacDonald and his family, and says the end would have looked much different for them without Hospice.

This is the second fundraiser for MacDonald, as another one was hosted while he was still going through treatments in December of 2015.

This year’s fundraiser is happening next Tuesday night at East Side Mario’s in Huntsville.
