Soccer club president hopes to see indoor field added to proposed arena complex

An indoor soccer field could be a major benefit to the Town of Bracebridge.
Bracebridge Soccer Club President John Miller says there is a strong case for the town to consider adding an indoor field with a simulated turf floor to the proposed arena complex.
Miller says this would allow for a more realistic playing field for many different sporting clubs in the winter.
This type of indoor field would also make Bracebridge a great location for sporting tournaments other than hockey says Miller.
Alliston is currently the nearest community with an indoor facility and Miller feels Bracebridge could attract sporting clubs nearby that don’t want to travel that far.
The idea of an indoor field was presented to council in a $47 million arena complex design, which also incorporates a new library.
