MAHC boosts safety precautions at local hospital for flu protection

Safety measures are being ramped up at local hospitals to protect from the flu. Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is putting policies in place to reduce the risk of exposure. This comes after the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit declared a widespread flu outbreak in the area.

If you’re visiting the hospital and don’t have your flu shot, you’ll be asked to wear a mask while you’re there. MAHC  isn’t putting any visitor restrictions into place just yet, but is ask anyone feeling sick with flu-like symptoms to stay away.

MAHC also notes it’s not too late to get your flu shot if you haven’t already.
