Bracebridge woman up for a national award for her business and support of LGBTQ rights

A Canada wide award to honour moms in business is getting some local representation. Michelle Emson, a Bracebridge transgendered woman who owns Sanctuary Studios, is up for the 2017 Mompreneur Momentum Award.

It’s handed out a woman who makes a difference in the lives of others. Emson is up against six others in that category, for her work to provide advocacy, activism, and filmmaking to support the LGBTQ community.

Emson was named a finalist this week, and the winners will be picked by a number of judges, including Dragon’s Den investor Manjit Minhas, in March.
