Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is getting a boost from the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network.
The LHIN recently approved a funding increase of over $1 million to MAHC for both of its acute care hospitals.
Officials with the LHIN say this increase is to address an increase in need of the hospitals as well as maintain existing services.
MAHC Executive Director Natalie Bubela says this boost in funding will be a major help in addressing ongoing challenges.
MAHC isn’t the only one getting a leg up in Muskoka, with Georgian Bay General Hospital getting an increase of just over $950,000.
