A new cancer care centre is on the verge of opening in Muskoka. It’s a non-for-profit centre to support patients, as well as their care-givers. Executive Director Allie Chisholm-Smith, says they will offer courses, financial management, and help to navigate lifestyle choices.
Chisholm-Smith says their goal is to combine all of the options, and provide a plan for the individual person. She says there is a lack of this type of centre in Muskoka now, with the closest one being in Barrie.
There is going to be a public meeting on Monday, December 5th in Huntsville for more details on when the centre will be open. It’s happening at 59 Main Street E, Unit 2A (inside Ahimsa), from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
