Toss a teddy bear for a good cause this weekend

An 11 year tradition is continuing in Huntsville this year. It’s the Teddy Bear Toss at a Huntsville Otters game. It’s hosted by Hailey Scott, who says the inspiration came to her at just six-years-old. She says she was shocked to hear kids in the world, and even in our community, didn’t even have a teddy bear to call their own. And so, the idea was born.

Scott says over 10-thousand teddy bears have been donated over the past 11 years, and says the community has rallied behind the cause. The donated bears will go to kids in need across a number of different organizations. That includes hospitals, schools, and children’s charities.

The game is happening this Sunday, puck drops at 2:30pm. If you can’t make the game, there are still ways to donate; go to the Hailey’s Wish Facebook page to learn more.
