Canadian-Chinese educational organization eyes Muskoka Regional Centre in Gravenhurst

An educational organization that mixes Chinese and Canadian practices may become the new owner of the Muskoka Regional Centre.
On Tuesday, Gravenhurst Council will discuss approving Maple Leaf Educational Systems as the successful candidate of the Request for Expression of Interest.
If council agrees to this approval, CAO Glen Davies will work with MLES to have the organization eventually purchase the old Muskoka Regional Centre and redevelop it.
MLES has private schools across China and recently opened its first Canadian High School in Kamloops, BC.
The school in Kamloops offers students an opportunity to receive high school diplomas in both the BC and Chinese school curriculum.
There are no details yet on what MLES has planned in terms of development at Muskoka Regional Centre.
The meeting starts at 5:00pm in council chambers.
You can find out more about MLES here.
