Bracebridge mother warns other parents on dangers of discarded needles

A Bracebridge mother’s worst nightmare came to life when her son was pricked by a discarded hypodermic needle while at school.
Ashley Ross says she was called Thursday morning by officials at Monck Public School to tell her that her son Bradley had found the needle and pricked himself.
Ross says from there it was a stressful trip to the emergency room at South Muskoka Hospital where blood tests were conducted.
Ross says those results won’t come back for another two weeks and there will be more tests and waiting for the next six months.
She says school officials were very concerned, helpful and receptive to ideas on how to avoid this type of situation moving forward.
Ross says she hopes this can be a warning to raise awareness for other parents.
Moose FM reached out to Monck Public School for a comment, but has not received a response.
