The Pines reinforces fire safety for employees with annual training session

Officials at The Pines in Bracebridge are wrapping up two days of fire safety training for over 200 employees.
Every year, employees are called in, for a mandatory two and a half our training session, to be updated on all fire safety procedures.
Administrator Katherine Rannie says employees receive a wide range of training in order to ensure the safety or residents at the facility.
Rannie says on top of this annual training there are also monthly fire drills and an evacuation drill at least once a year.
Shes says officials and employees at the facility are committed to ensuring residents and their families feel The Pines is a safe and secure place.
Many of the training exercises are very hands on such as the evacuation training, which sees volunteers acting as home residents that need to be securely and safely moved from their rooms during the drill.
Over the past two days, employees were broken up into four different training groups, with sessions running in the morning and afternoon on each day.
