Former Muskoka politician passes away

Former MPP for Muskoka-Georgian Bay Ken Black has passed away at the age of 84.

According to reports, Black died while in hospital in Bracebridge.

Black was born in Bracebridge and worked as a teacher and principal until 1980.

He was elected as MPP for Muskoka-Georgian Bay in 1987.

In 1989 he was given the position of Minister of Tourism and Recreation in the provincial cabinet.

He also took on the responsibility as the minister in charge of the provincial anti-drug strategy.
