Huntsville Kennel Owner Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

A Huntsville resident has a court date after being charged with animal cruelty.

On June 8th, the OSPCA received complaints about the care of animals in a kennel. As officials arrived, they found 42 Alaskan Husky and Malamute-type sled dogs at the location.

The animals appeared to have suffered serious injuries varying from infected and unattended wounds to injured legs as well as broken or infected teeth.

The 47-year-old kennel owner has been charged with allowing an animal to be in distress, failure to provide animal care, medication and safety.

The accused will appear in a Bracebridge court on August 23rd.
