Almost 150 years after the first steamship was launched in Gravenhurst, the town will be recognizing the man that made it happen.
On Wednesday, Gravenhurst officials will gather to dedicate a portion of the Muskoka Wharf to A.P. Cockburn.
A local historical group is working diligently to recognize all the work Cockburn put into the town.
According to officials with the group, this is the first major step to making A.P. Cockburn a household name in the community.
The naming ceremony will kick off at noon at the wharf and everyone is invited to attend.
