Bracebridge woman works to return brother’s remains from Ukraine

A Bracebridge woman is doing all she can to bring her brother’s remains back home to Muskoka.

Earlier this week, Jodi O’Donnell was told her 26-year-old brother Joseph had been found deceased at his home in Ukraine.

Shortly afterwards, O’Donnell, with the help of some friends, quickly started a campaign to help raise funds to bring her brother back to Bracebridge where he was raised.

O’Donnell says for the last three years, Joseph has been struggling with mental health issues.

Following his death, she is hoping to break the stigma that follows anyone who is suffering from mental health issues.

At this point, O’Donnell doesn’t have a set amount on all the costs that will be associated with this, but she says anything they don’t use will be donated to a mental health organization.

She says she is amazed by the outpouring of support her campaign has received so far, and it really shows how many lives Joseph touched in the community.

If you are interested in donating you can find more information here.
