OPP detachments across the region are cracking down hard on watercraft-related incidents following a high level of boat deaths in the province.
On Saturday, officers with the marine unit of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP were called to a collision between a jet-ski and a sea-doo on the Trent-Severn Waterway.
A 19-year-old from Cambridge was charged with careless operation following an investigation by officers.
No one was injured in the incident.
Officials say eight boating deaths this year is almost three times as many as compared to last year.
Officers will be promoting safety on the water until the end of this week as part of Safe Boat Awareness week.
