Camping permits can now be issued for backcountry sites in Algonquin Park.
Officials say most areas are now open with the exception of a few such as Dickson Lake, Hardy Bay and most of Brent which all are experiencing winter conditions. Park users should expect to run into snow, ice and muddy conditions.
Ontario Parks is warning visitors to be careful around lakes and rivers as water temperatures have been recorded at about three degrees.
