Nipissing University officials announce date for Muskoka campus closure

Nipissing University has set an expiry date on the Muskoka campus in Bracebridge.

Following an executive meeting on February 5th, Bracebridge officials learned that the University would be shutting down the campus on June 30th.

When the closure was announced last summer, the Nipissing University president had announced the importance of working with the town in finding a suitable replacement for the building.

Bracebridge officials say this decision to close in June was made without any communication with the town.

Mayor Graydon Smith says he is disappointed with this decision and lack of communication, but is hoping to continue working with Nipissing officials to find a suitable future use for the campus facilities.

Residents of Bracebridge are invited to a public meeting on March 10th at 6:00pm to give input on re-use opportunities.
