Victim identified and OPP lay charges in snowmobile incident

A man has been charged in relation to an incident that resulted in the death of a snowmobiler on Georgian Bay.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP was called to the east side of Methodist Island near Victoria Harbour yesterday around 6:45pm where a snowmobile went through the ice.

The investigation found four men were travelling on two snowmobiles when one sled broke through the ice and the other stopped to help and the driver of the second sled also fell through the ice.

Three of the four men made it to shore safely, but 48-year-old Brent Fisher of Innisfil died helping the others get out.
