Red Scarf Project gains support in Bracebridge

An initiative to bring more awareness to HIV/AIDS has blown up in Bracebridge.
Originally meant to start out in Barrie and Orillia the Red Scarf Project was brought to the area by the Gilbert Centre in Barrie.
Organizer Karyn Cooper says they had a modest goal of 350 scarves in those two areas, but it definitely went beyond that.
Cooper says there were so many scarves coming in, in Bracebridge that the organizer here had to politely ask people to stop making them.
The scarves are hung all around Bracebridge and are free for taking, with informational cards that give educational points on HIV/AIDS.
