A 12-lot development plan created by a former mayor has been approved by council.
The announcement was made during Monday night s regular council meeting. Former Mayor Claude Doughty s company, Claudex had their application for the lots to be built on Lake Vernon, just off Etwell Road. Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison believes this project is in good hands.
He says after being passed by the planning committee, this project worked well with all the parties involved.
The Mayor says before any shovels go into the ground the plan needs to go through an appeal process.
Council members, including the Mayor took a trip to the area at the start of November to ask questions and to understand the landscape.
