The United Way Simcoe is hoping to add the word Muskoka to that title.
CEO Dale Biddell says Muskoka has been a region that has been left out between the organizations in Simcoe and Sudbury.
Biddell explains the national organization cuts up regions by postal code and Muskoka was simply mistakenly left out.
She says the United Way Simcoe does serve the Muskoka region already through organizations it supports.
In August Biddell approached the Muskoka District Council with the plan to add Muskoka to the Simcoe United Way and says she received a positive response.
The next step is to get approval from national organization officials.
