What began as a folding table on the side of the road has become a major event in Windermere.
The Windermere Terry Fox Run features an entire day of fun including a BBQ, kids entertainment and a live band.
A mother who’s daughter was battling cancer decided to try and make a difference by collecting donations on the side of the road.
She was able to collect over $2000 from 54 runners that day, and since then with help from the Lions Club the village has raised $266,000.
The event kicks off Sunday September 20th with registration at 8:30 and the run at 9:00 a.m.
