Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison doesn’t believe The Town of Bracebridge is trying to pressure Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare to build one acute care hospital for Muskoka in Bracebridge.
Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith will be making an announcement tonight about the future of the town’s healthcare. Aitchison says he believes Smith will announce plans for a new hospital to deal with the limitations of the current hospital site.
Aitchison says the position of both municipalities has always been that we need an acute care hospital in Bracebridge and one in Huntsville.
Former Huntsville mayor Hugh Mackenzie told The Moose this morning he predicts a tug of war between the two towns over which town should get an acute care hospital.
