Former Huntsville Mayor predicts Bracebridge will offer land to MAHC for new acute care hospital site

Former Huntsville Mayor Hugh Mackenzie predicts a tug of war between Bracebridge and Huntsville when it comes to jockeying for a home turf site for a new acute care hospital in Muskoka. He made the prediction this morning on Moose 1055’s morning show Wake Up Muskoka with Grant Nickalls, saying he believes Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith will announce tonight that Bracebridge will offer land to MAHC at the Jim Lang Activity Park in Bracebridge off Highway 11 for a new acute care hospital. Here’s what Mackenzie said this morning during the show’s Shots and Afterthoughts segment…

So far all we know from Bracebridge’s end is that an announcement will be made tonight about the future of local healthcare. The announcement is to come at 7pm at Bracebridge Town hall prior to the council meeting.
