Our MPP fighting to keep the Magnetawan River Hatchery running

Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP is hoping the Magnetawan River Hatchery will continue its operations. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has stopped the funding. Norm Miller says this program has been stocking the Ahmic and Cecebe Lakes for the past 35 years.

Miller says the MNRF believes this practice may negatively affect fish currently in the lakes.

Miller says he’s going to fight for the Magnetawan River Hatchery program, which engages the community.

The supporters of the program believe it’s important for local tourism. Click here for more information.
