MAHC will balance this year’s budget with some help

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare has received one-time funding for their budget.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care through the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN has given MAHC $1.5-million. CEO Natalie Bubela says its fabulous news.

Bubela says they’ve been in talks with the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN since October about a $2.4-million reduction in revenue and the need for financial support.

MAHC’s fiscal year ends Mar. 31, 2015. Bubela says getting this funding is a relief and MAHC can now work on next year’s budget and funding.

Bubela says this funding has given them the opportunity to avoid a deficit this year.
