MAHC still seeking public feedback on future healthcare options

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is looking for feedback until April 15th on the future options for local healthcare. One of the options involves maintaining two full acute care hospital sites in Muskoka, although they’d be redeveloped at their current locations in Bracebridge and Huntsville with continued changes to programs and services across the two sites. The second option called ‘Centres of Focus’ would keep two acute care hospitals with ER departments in the existing communities – however some programs and services would be offered only at one site or the other. Then the ‘One Hospital’ option would see a new acute care hospital built on a single site that is centrally located – although no location has been decided upon yet. Your feedback will help inform the Board of Directors’ decision on the preferred model, which would deliver hospital care in the year 2030 and beyond. For a link to the feedback survey, see below:
