MCN excited about FedNor investment to continue work on BEAM

Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement says he’s happy another local business has received FedNor funding. Yesterday Clement announced Muskoka Community Network (MCN) is getting $350,000 for their Broadband E-Business and Marketing (BEAM) initiative. Clement says this is a partnership between the government and local businesses that have had a track record of success.

Local organizations like TriMuskoka have benefited from BEAM. Former president Rich Trenholm says BEAM has given them the opportunity to enhance their website and increase the amount of resources available to visiting athletes from around the world.

MCN is excited to start the next phase of BEAM. Board Chair Jennifer Schnier says the program works with specific companies to help create a web platform to take their business online.

Since 2009, MCN has helped over 380 local businesses. Schnier says this funding will allow them to continue their work.
