Huntsville Councillor Zanetti steps down

The Town of Huntsville has announced Councillor Chris Zanetti has resigned as representative for Stisted, Stephenson and Port Sidney Wards. In a statement released Jan. 31, Zanetti has stepped down for personal reasons.

Mayor Scott Aitchison said, “it is with great disappointment  that we received notice from Councillor Zanetti regarding his resignation. Councillor Zanetti played an important part of our team and represented his community very well. I would like to thank him for his contribution to Town Council during his tenure. I would like to thank him for his contribution to Town Council during his tenure as Stisted, Stephenson, and Port Sydney Wards. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Councillor Zanetti served on council for eight years. Council will discuss what happens next at their next regular meeting on Feb. 23.
