CCAC protesters won’t stop until they get a better deal

Local care coordinators were at the picket line in front of Huntsville Hospital eariler today. The Ontario Nurses Association’s (ONA) 10 Community Care Access Centres (CCAC) took a strike vote last night. The ONA says they’ve been in talks with employers since last March for a new contract. Negotiations were unsuccessful. Bargaining president for the local North Simcoe-Muskoka CCACs and ONA Tamara Smith says they are going to strike until employers fulfill their request for better wages. Members will alternate protest locations between Bracebridge and Huntsville until the strike is over.
