Lakeland Power wants to buy Hydro One transformer station in Utterson to reduce outages

Lakeland Power wants to buy Hydro One’s transformer station in Utterson to reduce power outages in Bracebridge. This month there have been four separate power outages in Bracebridge causing 17,000 customers to be without power for several hours. Lakeland Power CEO, Chris Litschko says Hydro One’s capital and operation plans have to be reexamined…

Litschko says that the Ontario Premiers Advisory Council on Government Assets may have a recommendation about Hydro One selling some of its assets this spring. He also adds that he’s hoping Lakeland Power can take over the transformer station to offer customers better service.
